BV, GF go to Heber Springs

On Wednesday, Green Forest and Berryville traveled to Heber Springs to compete in the Josh Park Memorial Cross Country Meet. Green Forest won the 1A-4A boys race, scoring 33 points and Berryville finished third, scoring 68 points. Parker Ables of Heber Springs won with a time of 17 minutes and 36 seconds. Rafael Rosales of Green Forest finished fifth in 18:39, while Berryville's Andrew Galicia finished eighth in 19:10 and Green Forest's Patrick Hunter finished ninth in 19:18. Green Forest's Jose Lozano finished 12th in 19:32, while teammates Gabriel Ramos finished 13th in 19:37 and Matthew Hansen finished 15th in 19:48. Rhett Williamson of Green Forest finished 16th in 19:50, while Berryville's Daniel Portillo finished 17th in 19:56 and Green Forest's Carlos Lemus finished 18th in 20:11. Jacob Thompson of Green Forest finished 22nd in 20:21, while Berryville's Carlos Garduno finished 25th in 20:34 and teammate Eduardo Rangel finished 26th in 20:43. Green Forest's Jose Mendez finished 32nd in 21:19, while teammate Jeremy Mendez finished 36th in 21:27 and Berryville's Dakota Hurt finished 37th in 21:28. Berryville's Brian Tovar finished 39th in 21:35, while teammates Luis Tovar finished 40th in 21:38 and Jamos Warren finished 42nd in 21:45. Berryville's Nathan Engel finished 46th in 22:02, while Cesar Lopez of Green Forest finished 57th in 22:34 and teammate Alex Cenobio finished 58th in 22:35. Berryville's Jesse Diaz finished 64th in 22:56, while teammates Curtis Worley finished 66th in 23:00 and Antonio Galdamez finished 90th in 24:25. Berryville's Marcelo Garduno finished 92nd in 24:52.

1A-4A Girls: Heber Springs won with a score of 22 points, while Berryville finished second with 54. Gracie Hyde of Lonoke won with a time of 20 minutes and 40 seconds. Green Forest's Karina Maravillas finished second in 21:49, while Berryville's Samantha Preston finished eighth in 23:55 and teammate Alexis Henry finished 15th in 24:52. Mary-Kennedy Jackson of Berryville finished 19th in 25:41, while teammates Nora Waller finished 23rd in 25:55 and Sarah Hale finished 25th in 26:09. Berryville's Hope Braziel finished 33rd in 27:01, while Green Forest's Jaxiry Martinez finished 39th in 27:21 and teammate Emily Bolen finished 41st in 27:33. Berryville's Cecilia Flores finished 43rd in 27:35, while teammates Karen Leon finished 44th in 27:37 and Juanita Villatoro finished 47th in 27:48. Alejandra Hernandez of Berryville finished 55th in 28:41, while teammate Claira Watson finished 60th in 29:24 and Green Forest's Andrea Lopez finished 62nd in 29:31. Berryville's Trinity Rains finished 81st in 31:36 and teammate Navi Romero finishers 97th in 33:43.

On Saturday, Green Forest and Berryville will join Eureka Springs in Siloam Springs.
