From 1912 to early 2000, the water tower behind the 1880 Carroll County Courthouse dominated the skyline of Berryville. But newer, larger water tanks were constructed and well before the turn of the century it fell into disuse. It was deemed structurally unsafe and the money to refurbish it was too much just to keep it as a historical note. So it was taken down. Here is the last piece of the tank being removed.
