EDWARD "EDDIE" LEE ROBERTS, a resident of Green Forest, Arkansas, was born May 24, 1949 in Alpena, Arkansas, a son of Otto Henry and Rosella "Rosie" (Warren) Slape. He departed this life Friday, June 17, 2016 in Aurora, Colorado at the age of 67 years.
Eddie proudly served his county in the Army Reserves. He worked at Tyson Foods of Green Forest and the Tyson Truck Shop, where he retired after forty-three years. One of his favorite past-times was working on cars and trucks. He was a gifted mechanic.
On June 27, 1970 he was united in marriage with Linda Sue Young who survives him of the home. He is also survived by his two sons, Greg Roberts and wife Lisa; Timothy Lee Roberts; two grandchildren, Austin Kent and Brittanie Rose-Marie Roberts, all of Green Forest, Arkansas; a host of other relatives, friends and loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Otto Henry and Rosella "Rosie" (Warren) Slape, and son, Michael Roberts.
Pall bearers will be Homer Myers, Erton McNair, Tim Ogier, Carl Wayne Young, Scott Tipton and Jason McCreary. Honorary bearers will be the gentlemen from the Tyson Truck Shop.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Nelson's Green Forest Chapel, Green Forest, Arkansas. Funeral service will at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2016 at Nelson's Green Forest Chapel with Mark Young officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Cemetery, Green Forest, Arkansas under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc.
