Blood drives Friday in Berryville

Tuesday, May 31, 2016

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) has issued a Code Yellow Alert for O Positive and O Negative blood types. There is currently less than a two-day supply of blood available for patients at 39 area hospitals.

Donors to CBCO provide all of the blood for patients at 39 area hospitals. On average, a transfusion takes place every seven minutes. It takes around 200 donations each day to meet the area's blood needs.

In Berryville, blood donations will be taken in two locations Friday, June 3 -- from 9 a.m. to noon at Tyson Foods, 110 W. Freeman and from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Wal-Mart Supercenter, 1000 W. Trimble.

Each donation will be awarded LifePoints as a part of CBCO's donor rewards program. LifePoints may be redeemed online for a variety of gift cards, or points may be assigned to other meaningful causes or charities. More information on the LifePoints donor rewards program may be found at www.cbco.org.
