Berryville comes back late to win at Pea Ridge
The Berryville Senior Babe Ruth split a pair of games on Wednesday in Pea Ridge. Berryville lost the first game, 3-0 and won the second, 8-7.

Hitting was a struggle for Berryville in the first game of the evening. After failing to reach base in the top of the first, Pea Ridge scored on a fielder's choice in the bottom of the inning.
Tate Ferguson and Chay Myers were each walked in the second, but a double play ended the inning. Pea Ridge scored its final two runs of the game in the bottom of the fourth by stealing home and hitting a single to right. Berryville failed to get a runner on base in the final two innings.
Zach Jones had a hit for Berryville.
Berryville 8, Pea Ridge 7
Down by two runs going into the bottom of the seventh, things didn't look good for Berryville. Chay Myers opened the inning with a double, but consecutive outs gave Berryville one final chance, and it came down to Green Forest's David Nelson, who hit a line drive double to left, keeping Berryville alive.
Zach Jones reached on a Pea Ridge error. This scored Nelson, tying the game at 7-7. A Davis Stone single to to left advanced Jones to third. Tate Ferguson's fly ball to left scored Jones to win the game.
Pea Ridge scored the first run of the game in the first inning in the top of the first on a fly ball to center. Pea Ridge added two more in the third inning. One came on a Berryville error. The other was a single to center. Berryville tied the game in the bottom of the fourth, though. Austin Woods started the inning with a fly ball to right. Woods stole third and a Robby Broseus single to right scored Woods. Broseus advanced to third on a Pea Ridge error. He scored on a wild pitch. Jones was walked and after stealing second, Tate Ferguson's line drive to left scored Jones, tying the game at 3-3.
Pea Ridge answered with a run in the top of the fifth. A single to short scored a run, giving Pea Ridge a 4-3 lead. A double to center in the fifth gave Pea Ridge a two-run lead going into the bottom of the sixth.
Berryville had the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth. Jones scored on a wild pitch and a Keaton Lofgren ground ball scored Stone, tying the game at 5-5 going into the seventh inning. Pea Ridge scored two runs in the top of the seventh before Berryville scored three runs in the bottom of the inning to win the game.
Ferguson had two hits and two RBIs, while Broseus and Nelson had a hit and RBI.
On Wednesday, Berryville hosts Springdale Powers.
