It was a first-inning disaster for the Berryville Bobcat baseball team in Friday's 9-1 road loss at Prairie Grove. After Berryville went scoreless in the top half of the inning, Prairie Grove scored seven runs to take a commanding early lead. With the bases loaded, a Prairie Grove single to right scored one run. A bases-loaded walk scored another. The Tigers scored another run on a passed ball. Two more runs were scored on a line drive single to left. A line drive single to left scored Prairie Grove's sixth run of the inning. The Tigers stole home for the final run of the inning. A fly ball to Chay Myers ended the inning.

An Austin Woods fly ball to right in the top of the fourth advanced Berryville's Jesse Potteet to third with no outs, but two strikeouts and a fly ball ended the inning. Prairie Grove added a run in the bottom of the fourth.

A Thomas Trowbridge single started the top of the sixth for Berryville. That was followed by a walk by Woods. Trowbridge advanced to third on a passed ball and after Robby Broseus was walked, the bases were loaded. Kendal Bryant was hit by a pitch, scoring Trowbridge. A double play ended the inning, however.

Kooper Logan, Woods and Trowbridge all had hits. Bryant pitched a complete game. He struck out two and allowed nine runs. On Monday, Berryville hosted Huntsville.
