BV wins, schedule about to intensify
The Berryville Bobcat soccer team got another easy win at home Thursday, when it defeated Decatur, 7-0. Gustavo Branchini scored three goals, while Jesse Diaz, Sam Muia, Joel Brown and Nathan Engel all scored one. Despite the Bulldogs losing nine seniors, Berryville coach Joey Curtis didn't want to take anything away from a good Decatur team, but he knows Berryville's schedule is getting ready to get much more difficult, starting on Tuesday when the Bobcats host Mountain Home.
"Mountain Home, they are a lot bigger school than us and they have played a lot of teams in our conference, so that will be a measuring stick game for us," Curtis said. "Then we got Prairie Grove, who is third in conference and we are in a tie for first."
Next week, Berryville will have games against Green Forest and Huntsville before opening up the following week against Dardanelle, one of the better teams in the state.
"Those games are all pretty competitive because they tend to be rivalry games," Curtis said. "Especially the Green Forest game. Our schedule is definitely back-loaded, so we are about to start finding out this week, where we are at."
