Tigers struggle against Flippin
Anytime you give up 10 runs in two innings of play, you are likely to have a bad day. Green Forest had that bad day in an 11-3 home loss against the Flippin Bobcats on Tuesday. It all started in the top of the first when the Bobcats scored their first two runs on Green Forest errors. A Clayton McManness single scored Austin Lack and the Bobcats scored two more runs by stealing home and scoring on a wild pitch.
In the bottom of the third, Green Forest's Cory Bryant got on base after a Flippin error. A Hayden Bailey triple to right scored Bryant. The Tigers gave up five more runs in the top of the fifth, four of which came off errors.
David Nelson started the bottom of the fourth with a single to center. Luis Lopez was hit by a pitch and advanced Nelson to second. Nelson scored on a wild pitch and Lopez advanced to third. Lopez stole home for Green Forest's final run of the game. Flippin scored one final run in the top of the seventh.
Baylor Deislinger, Tyler Swofford, Nelson and Bailey all had hits for Green Forest.
On Thursday, the Tigers traveled to Elkins.
