Tigers have a chance in the closing seconds, still lose by a goal

Tuesday, April 5, 2016

Green Forest gave up two goals in the first half and they were never able to recover in Friday night's 2-1 loss at Prairie Grove.

Green Forest's Jose Hernandez made a corner kick in the second half to draw the Tigers within one and in the closing seconds, Green Forest had a chance at a goal, but the official called a Green Forest player offsides, nullifying the opportunity.

"We had everyone but the goalie down on our end with a few seconds left, but the ref called our guy offsides," Green Forest coach Johnathan Bryant said. "We did some good things and not so good things."

Bryant said if Green Forest is ever able to play a complete game, it will be a very good team this year.

"We must get focused and play a full game," Bryant said. "If we can figure out a way to play the whole game like we did the second half, that would be great."

The Green Forest Lady Tigers defeated Prairie Grove, 4-1. Alexandria Fernandez scored three goals and Emily Solis had one.

On Monday, Green Forest traveled to Springdale.
