LLOYD KENNETH DOTSON, a resident of Berryville, Arkansas, was born July 28, 1918 in Berryville, Arkansas, a son of Coy and Janie Belle (Watkins) Dotson. He departed this life Saturday, April 2, 2016 in his home with his family by his side, at the age of 97 years.

Lloyd was a Christian. He was a past member of the VFW Post 7518 and a current member of the American Legion Post 1000. He worked for many years in the construction business as a foreman building bridges. After retiring he loved making all sorts of things out of wood and was a fantastic wood-worker.

On June 3, 1939 he was united in marriage with Evelyn Marie (Kell) Dotson, who survives him of their home. He is also survived by four children, son, Hershal Dotson and wife, Penny of Stillwell, Oklahoma; son, Robert Dotson and wife, Larita of Berryville, Arkansas; son, Junior Dotson and wife, Jenelle of Berryville, Arkansas; and daughter, Linda Williams of Berryville, Arkansas; two sisters, Blanche Smith and Charlene Beeson; nine grandchildren, Mike Dotson, Michelle Merriott, Lisa Anderson, Julie Clark, Joni Kelch, Travis Dotson, Kevin (Short) Williams, Lee Ann Spurlock and Jason Dotson; nineteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Irma Dotson, one brother-in-law, Jerry Darrah, several nieces, nephews and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones.

He was preceded by in death by his parents, Coy and Janie Dotson; three sisters, Helen Farmer, Bessie Purcell and Margie Darrah; one brother, Elbert Dotson; son-in-law, Lonnie Williams; one grandson-in-law, Tim Doshier; nine brother-in-laws and one sister-in-law.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel, Berryville, Arkansas. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel, Berryville, Arkansas, with Brother Jerry Spurlock officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
