Ertie Ruel Youngblood

Ertie Ruel Youngblood, 95, of Green Forest, Ark. passed away Jan. 27, 2016. He was born April 2, 1920 at Raum, Ark. to the late Robert (Bob) and Harritt LuVesta (Nance) Youngblood.

On Nov. 7, 1936 he was united in marriage with Irene Virginia Avery.

Ertie was a farmer, a welder and a blacksmith. He attended Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church where he loved to play guitar and sing specials. Ertie was passionate about music, and he sang and played at every opportunity. In his younger years he enjoyed coon hunting. He loved life and cherished his children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren.

He is survived by his three sons, Gerald Eugene Youngblood of Green Forest, Donald Gene Youngblood and wife JoAnn of Green Forest, and Jerry Dean Youngblood of Harrison: two brothers, Jimmie Ray Youngblood and wife Alice Marie of Green Forest, Joy Lee Youngblood of Ogden, Utah; five grandchildren, Douglas Youngblood and wife Rhonda, Angelia Parton and husband Lance, Kimmy Youngblood, Bradley Youngblood, Amber Benetz and husband; eight great-grandchildren and a number of other family and friends.

Besides his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife, Irene; four sisters, Edith Marie, Reba, Edna, Lucille; two brothers, Clayton and Robert Jr. and an infant grandson.

Celebration Of Life will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2016 at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest with Brother Freddie Blevins officiating. Interment will follow at Hale Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31 at Smith Family Funeral Home. Online condolences at
