James Harold Moon
James Harold (Jim) Moon, of Springfield, MO passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016, at the age of 70 years. Jim was born in Arkansas City, Kansas, on April 2, 1945, to Burl Harold and Ruby Whitford Moon. Jim's father passed away in an accident when Jim was two years old and was raised by his step-father, John Clay.
Jim is survived by his wife, Peggy of the home; two sons, Rick Moon of Ava, MO and Ronny and wife Angela of Potosi, MO; four grandchildren, Tori Sutherland and husband Aaron of Springfield, Waylin Moon of Ava, MO, Dalton and Hunter Moon of Potosi, MO; three great grandchildren, Aidan, Kyla, and Liam Sutherland of Springfield, MO; and many other relatives and friends.
On October 8, 1966, he was united in marriage to his best friend and love of his life, Peggy June Snow Moon. In 1971, they opened and ran "Jim Moon Yamaha" in Springfield, MO for over 25 years. After that, Jim worked for Mainheim Transportation for 11 years driving a roll back truck.
Jim brought fun and excitement wherever he went. There was almost always a boat, motorcycles, or wave runners on a trailer behind his truck and many times there were all three. Jim shared everything with family and friends and loved spending weekends at the lake house surrounded by people making memories on the lake.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joyce Elaine Clay.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 8, 2016, at 2:00pm at Moore Free Will Baptist Church, eight miles south of Berryville, AR, on Hwy 21.
