ES hosts 33rd Annual Tour of Homes
The Eureka Springs Preservation Society will host the 33rd Annual Christmas Tour of Homes from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5.
There will be nine location in this year's tour, and all the stops on the tour are self-guided. Lavishly decorated with historical accuracy, each residence offers an opportunity to revisit the grandeur of the Victorian era.
Dee Bright, president of the preservation society, said the details will set the tour apart from other similar holiday events, noting grand staircases, ornately carved fireplace mantels, sparkling stained glass and intricate millwork.
Choir and band music, carolers and refreshments will accompany the tour, with men and women dressed in historically accurate clothing.
"Remembering Christmas past is a great way to begin making memories for Christmas present. The attention to detail in each of the homes makes this tour truly special for architectural buffs, history enthusiasts and those who simply enjoy beauty for its own sake," Bright said.
Tickets are available daily at the Eureka Springs Historical Museum at 95 South Main Street. Call 479-253-9417 or visit www.eurekaspringspreservationsociety.org to purchase tickets online.
On the day of the tour, tickets will be available from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Eureka Springs Transit and Welcome Center at 137 West Van Buren. Tickets cost $20. Children 12 and under are free.
