Pictured above are two of the fifth-grade classes and their teachers at Berryville Intermediate School. During Red Ribbon Week each year in late October the Holiday Island Elks Lodge 1042 presents its Drug Awareness Program to fifth-graders at seven area schools. The schools are Huntsville, Eureka Springs, Cassville, Alpena, Berryville, Green Forest and the Academy of Excellence. The program includes a short video -- "The Boy Who Was Swallowed by the Drug Monster," a short talk encouraging the children to never use drugs, a bean-bag toss where each child gets a packet of information outlining the dangers of drugs and a chance to participate in an anti-drug poster contest.
