LOWELL DEAN ALLEN, SR., a longtime Hereford, Texas resident also resided in Amarillo, Texas for the past three and a half years. He was born January 30, 1933 in Viola, Missouri, the only child of Clarence Thomas and Clemia Cora (Brigman) Allen. He departed this life Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in Amarillo, Texas, at the age of 82 years.

Mr. Allen married Patricia Kelley, the love of his life, on January 27, 1953 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They had two children together, son, Dean Jr. and daughter, Deanne, both of Amarillo, Texas. He started working for the Holly Sugar Company in Tracy, California in 1954 and transferred to Hereford, Texas in 1964, as a shift supervisor and retired in 1995 after forty plus years of service. He was of the Baptist faith and loved the Lord. Dean is remembered by his family and friends as a generous man, with a big heart. He loved his family and was proud to be a Pa-Paw. His greatest passion was his great-granddaughters, Faith Emily and Paisley Grace.

Dean is survived by one son, Lowell Dean Allen Jr. of Amarillo, Texas; one daughter, Deanne Bruegel of Amarillo, Texas; two grandchildren, Breanna Bruegel and Christopher Bruegel; two great-grandchildren, Faith Fletcher and Paisley Bruegel; and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Patricia Inez (Kelley) Allen and his parents, Clarence Thomas and Clemia Cora Allen.

Visitation was held from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday, October 23, 2015 at Nelson's Chapel of the Springs in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Funeral service was 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Nelson's Chapel of the Springs in Eureka Springs, Arkansas with Pastor Jerry Spurlock officiating. Interment followed the service in the McGuire Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
