State Rep. Ron McNair (R-Alpena) has announced his intention to seek re-election to the District 98 seat in the Arkansas House of Representatives.

McNair was elected to the position in November 2014 and is serving his first term. He served on the Agriculture, Forestry, and Economic Development Committee, the Public Transportation Committee, the Rural Fire Department Study Committee, the Public Retirement and Social Security Programs Committee, and the Legislative Joint Audit Committee during Arkansas' 90th General Assembly.

McNair and his wife, Phyllis, live in Alpena where he runs Ron's Auto Service.

"It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the citizens of Boone and Carroll counties that reside in District 98 as their state representative in the 90th General Assembly," McNair said in his re-election announcement statement. "I am asking for the opportunity to continue my service into the 91st General Assembly."

The Republican primary will be held in March 2016.
