Green Forest School District construction underway
Green Forest School District patrons will see a lot of changes to the school's landscape going into the 2015-16 school year.
Superintendent Matt Summers said the Green Forest School Board voted to approve several construction projects at its meeting Monday night. These projects include a retaining wall, more stadium parking and a new entryway at the high school campus.
Summers said the board also approved the 2015-16 Migrant Education Program Grant, which will cut some of the school's funding for paraprofessionals. Because of this, Summers explained, one of the paraprofessional employees will paid through the district next year.
"It'll be paid for by a different account, but we'll still have all five positions," Summers said.
The board approved ticket sales for the drama department's upcoming production as well.
Summers noted that Lisa Carlon, an employee who works in the technology department, has recently received her doctorate degree, adding that a reception for retiring employees will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, at the alumni building.
The board's next regular meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. Monday, June 22.
