The North Arkansas Livestock Auction opened in 1959. The picture in Tuesday's Midweek edition is from a postcard that dates to around 1960 or '61. Here is the description of the copy appearing on the back of the card: 'North Arkansas Livestock Auction, Green Forest. The largest and most modern facility in the state. Sale every Thursday and Saturday starting at 10:30 a.m. All-weather. Air conditioned. Modern restrooms. Ladies lounge and restaurant. 530 finished hardwood seats. New flash weight scales.
