WILMA JOYCE DEES, resident of Harrison, Arkansas, born October 10, 1937 in Harrison, Arkansas. A daughter born to Porter and Zella (Lawrence) Hodges but raised by her dad and mom, Garland and Zella Smothers. She departed this life Tuesday, April 14, 2015 in her home in Harrison, at the age of 77 years.

Joyce attended the Church of God in Harrison. She was Mom to her children, Grandma to her grandchildren, and she was GG and Memop to her great-grandchildren. Her favorite biblical verse was "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" Joshua 24:15.

She is survived by son, James Dees of Lead Hill, AR; daughter, Deborah and husband Floyd Kellie of Harrison, AR; sister, Sharon and husband Bobby Williams of Harrison, AR; two sisters-in-law, Betty and husband Ray Dean Parmer and Etha Caton all of Harrison, AR; four grandchildren, Daril Miner and wife Clara, Iris and husband Ken Church, Randy Miner and wife Tammy, and Amber Langston; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones.

On December 15, 1959, Joyce was united in marriage with Earl Dees who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her parents, Garland and Zella Smothers; one brother; five sisters; one brother-in-law; one son-in-law, Bill Walker; and two nephews, Terry and James.

Services were Friday and Saturday, April 17 and 18, Nelson's Green Forest Chapel. Interment in Farewell Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
