Early voting 'steady' in Carroll County

Early voting in Carroll County began last Monday at 8 am at the Carroll County Clerk's office in Berryville and at the Carroll County Circuit Clerk's office at the courthouse in Eureka Springs. On Monday through Friday early voting runs until 6 pm and on Saturdays runs from 10 am till 4 pm at both locations.

Deputy Clerk Cathy Ellis said voting has "been very steady with a good turnout for a non-presidential [election]." Through 4:30 pm Thursday afternoon 416 persons had voted in Berryville and 271 in Eureka Springs, for a total of 687.

"I think next week it will start picking up," Ellis said. "I think early voting is catching on and becoming more popular," Ellis said. "On Nov. 3 [you can early vote] from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
