'Pink Out' at Green Forest game
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Green Forest will do its part to help fight the disease Friday night.
Keri Ann Newberry is the founder of the annual "Pink Out" event. When it originated, all that was sold was T-shirts. As the event has grown throughout the years, Newberry has been able to get various businesses to donate items for the event. These items include homemade keychains, necklaces and even a trip to see a free show in Branson.
"I enjoy doing it and I want to do anything I can to raise awareness for breast cancer," Newberry said.
Head football coach Jay Martin is proud of what Newberry has done for the school and understands how much time and dedication she puts into it.
"She works really hard and she does a really good job on it," Martin said. "She starts talking to us back in the spring trying to set a date for it."
