*UPDATED* HI commissioners to look at golf operations bids, legal contract and hold later budget meeting
HOLIDAY ISLAND -- Holiday Island commissioners will consider bids on golf course operations, the legal services contract and return after recess for a budget meeting on Monday.
The Ad Hoc Golf Screening Committee met Sept. 26 to consider three bids submitted to do a golf operations study for the district. Of the three bidders, the committee came back with a recommendation to award the study to National Golf Foundation Consulting of Jupiter, Fla., for $24,000. Two more bids came in, at $27,440 and $32,500.
The committee was composed of HISID staff and representatives of several groups and organizations. The board may accept, change or reject altogether the committee's recommendation of an award, said District Manager Dennis Kelly.
Also on the agenda, commissioners will review a legal contract for services with the Howard Slinkard law firm. Slinkard was selected from among six firms submitting Requests for Qualification, narrowed down to the top three. Commissioners will also have a conference call with the leak detection company, Matchpoint, Inc.
The commissioners will recess until 1 p.m., at which time they will reconvene to discuss the 2015 budget and the Capital Improvements Program.
Kelly said a public hearing on the budget will take place at the Oct. 27 meeting, as part of the regular meeting.
Monday's meeting, open to the public, will begin at 9 a.m. at the district office at 110 Woodsdale Drive.
