Lady Bobcats keep rolling with two victories
The Berryville Lady Bobcats are on a roll as postseason play draws near.
Berryville picked up a pair of victories this week, defeating Gravette 25-13, 25-6, 25-20 on the road Tuesday before returning home to defeat Pea Ridge 25-16, 25-13, 25-21 on Thursday.
Berryville (15-3, 11-2 4A-1) can clinch the No. 2 seed in the district tournament with two more victories next week. The Lady Bobcats host Prairie Grove on Tuesday and travel to Huntsville on Thursday.
Hannah Noble led the Lady Bobcats over Pea Ridge with 14 kills, while Ally Teague added 13. Misty Rhymer had 47 assists and 16 digs in the victory.
Coach Kristin Whetham said she can tell her team has been improving throughout the season and the players are comfortable with each other.
"Being comfortable with each other on the floor is something I was worried about at the beginning of the year," Whetham said. "We have become united as a team and I feel good about that going into the district tournament."
Whetham has told her senior-laden team not to look ahead and thus far, the Lady Bobcats have done a good job of taking each opponent seriously.
"We are just being focused on one game at a time," Whetham said. "We aren't looking at districts yet, or state. My strategy is to get focused on getting past one game at a time before even looking at districts."
