The Green Forest Cowboy church hosted its first Cowboy Pasture Golf tournament on Saturday. Dozens of duffers and non-golfers alike took up the challenge. Actually, being a golfer might have been a handicap in an event where on one hole a .22 caliber "hogleg" was used to shoot the golf ball. But mostly the tools of this game were putters and irons ... as in real branding irons. The cups were coffee cans and getting close was no guarantee of putting in. The proceeds of the benefit "golf" tournament went to support the activities of the Merlin Foundation in helping area cancer victims.
