Pate joins airport commission

Friday, September 26, 2014

Morris Pate, Eureka Springs mayor, became a member of the Carroll County Airport Commission at a special meeting Thursday.

The commission had other applications on file, but Chairman Lonnie Clark asked for a motion to nominate Pate, who received unanimous approval. Pate had attended the Sept. 18 meeting of the CCAC to express his interest in serving on the commission. Pate will leave office at the end of this year, after four years as mayor. Before that, he served on the quorum court for 18 years.

Pate replaces Heath Worley, who submitted a letter of resignation saying that business demands had made inroads on his time. He said he hoped to serve again on the commission when he has more time. Clark described Worley as a "great asset" to the airport.
