HISID to consider appointment of interim commissioner

Friday, June 20, 2014

HOLIDAY ISLAND -- At its meeting Monday, the Holiday Island Board of Commissioners will go into executive session to consider the appointment of an interim replacement for Ken Ames, who resigned his seat on the board, effective June 30.

The appointment will be for the remainder of this year.

Thursday the district received two bids for chip-and-seal road work, from Hutchens Construction of Cassville, Mo., and Heavy Constructors of Berryville. District Manager Dennis Kelly said Heavy Constructors submitted the lower bid, but did not include their insurance certificate with the bid, which makes it non-qualifying.

Also on the agenda, the board will consider approval of the second reading of Regulation 33, Amendment 3, which increases the road damage inspection fee on new construction from $250 to $400.

Department head reports will also be given.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will take place Monday, June 23, at 9 a.m. at the district office at 110 Woodsdale Drive.

  • I would hope that whomever is appointed will have the community at heart, and not another Golf protectionism stoolie, or a chest pounder!

And on the other part of the article, guess they have found with raising the fees, another $150.00 to divert from roads.
