CARROLL COUNTY -- The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department has approved a bid to resurface 3.8 miles of highway in the southern part of Carroll County, with work to begin in two to four weeks, the department said.

Areas affected are portions of U.S. Highway 412, from County Road 720 to near Chestnut Road and from County Road 928 to near Osage Creek. The bid was awarded to APAC-Central of Fayetteville at a cost of $846,772.08, said AHTD officials.

The project is expected to be completed this summer, but travelers should expect delays.
