Berryville to host countywide student art, talent show
Editor's Note: The talent show has been postponed to Tuesday, April 8, at 6 at Berryville Elementary School.
BERRYVILLE -- Each year, high school seniors do capstone projects to help the community in some way. This year, seniors Erick Arrizon, Armando Briseno, Cristian Hernandez, Chandler Mann, Kaela Thompson, and Jerry Valdez have organized what they have dubbed the "Carroll County Fine Arts Show Down."
The event is a talent show and art contest open to any student in kindergarten through 12th grade in Carroll County. Music, drama, magic, dance -- you name it.
The show will be held Thursday, April 3, at the Berryville Elementary School cafetorium. The 6 p.m. event is free to the public.
Under the advisory of Laura Hudgens, the group chose this project to encourage the arts among students in the Carroll County area.
In addition to stage performance entries, all mediums of artwork are eligible for judging as well. Doubly talented students may enter in a performance and in the art show. Entry fees of $5 will be used to produce the show and award prizes.
To obtain an entry form, performers may contact the music teachers and county school offices. For more info or forms, contact Arrizon at 870-350-2177 or Donesa Mann at 870-480-6464. Forms may also be printed from the BerryvilleCATS Facebook page.
