Nominees sought for this year's Senior Arkansans Hall of Fame
LITTLE ROCK -- The Department of Human Services Division of Aging and Adult Services is seeking nominees for induction into the Senior Arkansans Hall of Fame through April 1.
This is the 21st year that seniors will be honored. There are currently 64 seniors in the Hall of Fame.
Each year, the division recognizes outstanding senior Arkansans who have served their communities and enhanced the lives of fellow Arkansas seniors. Seniors may be nominated by anyone.
To be considered for selection to the Senior Arkansans Hall of Fame, nominees shall:
* Be citizens of the State of Arkansas,
* Be at least 60 years old or older and living at the time of nomination,
* Have performed outstanding volunteer contributions/services, which have promoted, enhanced and enriched the quality of life specifically for senior Arkansans, and
* Have made significant and exemplary contributions to senior Arkansans.
There are two ways to make nominations. Nomination forms are available through local Area Agency on Aging (AAA).
The nomination form can also be accessed online by going to the Arkansas Division of Aging and Adult Services website at http://www.daas.ar.gov under the heading "News/Events" and selecting the "2014 Senior Arkansans Hall of Fame Nomination" link to complete the nomination form.
The outstanding older Arkansans will be inducted into the Senior Arkansans Hall of Fame at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 15 in the State Capitol Rotunda in Little Rock.
