Single Parent Scholarship deadline is approaching
FAYETTEVILLE -- The Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas, Inc. works to help single parent families become financially stable and independent by providing direct financial assistance to low-income single parents who are pursuing a career-related course of study in order to gain sufficient employment to meet the basic needs of their families. Supportive programs are also available to help ensure the success of our recipients.
SPSF NWA is now accepting applications for scholarships for the summer 2014 academic semester. The deadline to apply is March 15. SPSF NWA serves Carroll, Madison and Washington counties. Each year, the organization awards over $300,000 in scholarships to more than 100 recipients to help them pay for their education and related living expenses. The average GPA of a scholarship recipient is 3.3, and more than 80 percent of SPSF NWA graduates obtain gainful employment within six months of graduation.
Scholarships are funded entirely by donations from individuals businesses, civic and community groups, churches and foundations.
