Graves hosting "meet the candidate" sessions

Wednesday, November 13, 2013

Holiday Island Board of Commissioners candidate Linda Graves is hosting three informal sessions for people to meet her and discuss any issues on their minds prior to voting in the upcoming Board of Commissioners election.

Those meetings will take place Thursday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. in the Clubhouse, Room A, lower level; Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the Island Room; and Friday, Nov. 22, at 10 a.m. in the Clubhouse, Room A.

Graves is paying for the use of these facilities, said Chairman Ken Ames.

The public is invited to attend any session. Early voting runs from Nov. 18 to Election Day, which is Dec. 3, at the HISID office at 110 Woodsdale Drive.

  • Ms. Graves should have thought of listening to property owner several years ago. She's not trusted now! Seriously, what has she accomplished so far? $500K+ deficit for the golf courses. Sure would not want that on my resume!

  • Graves say H.I., is solvent with an estimated $3,000.000.00 in reserves, yet according to the manager they need to pull $300,000.00 annually for operating expenses and repairing the marina with new flotation, long before the deadline. At one meeting DeHart was told to lower his budget to the absolute minimum for road repairs, yet Carroll County contributes $40,000.00 annually to maintain them and there should be an equal or better amount contributed by H.I., from the AOB. NOT! Citizens! We all pay AOB, but not all areas are maintained. There is a huge deficit to operate and maintain the 2 golf courses, but let our infrastructure decay to an unacceptable level. Rumor is she now champions a shelter over the swimming pool while continuing to allow our roads and water system to suffer. Looks to me like another lawsuit on the horizon.

What is Graves motive with all the signs and meetings? Why is she pushing so hard to be Chair? I bet many of you would pull those signs if you would drive around all of H.I..

  • WOW, 10 whole anti Graves comment seems like there must be a lot of people out there who hate her. OH WAIT ONLY 3 COMMENTERS. 8 from the ever present NRPI and 2 others. I sure hope people reading the comments on these online stories are aware that 95% of all the negative and demeaning comments are made by less than 10 people. I know why also. if one were to go back for about a year the will find any one who posts a comment disagreeing with the malcontents, they are cruelly attacked. It is called control by intimidation.
