Alpena grad receives bank scholarship

ALPENA -- Michael Kolby Watts of Alpena received the Community First Bank Agriculture Scholarship to attend North Arkansas College this fall.
"I am very honored to receive this scholarship," Watts said.
A graduate of Alpena High School, he is the son of Isaac Watts and Robbie and Amanda Schanke. Watts was a member of FFA, FBLA, FCCLA, Quiz Bowl and Choir.
He was a National Agriscience Competitor, State Champ and Runner-Up; 2nd place Quiz Bowl in Arkansas for IA Division; and State Agriscience Overall Champion.
Watts will major in poultry sciences. His goal is to attend Northark and complete his education at a university.
He wants to work as a geneticist or nutritionist at Tyson Foods and finish his doctoral degree to eventually become a professor at the University of Arkansas.
The Community First Bank Agriculture Scholarship was established through a gift to the North Arkansas College Foundation.
