Award-winning local author to teach character workshop

Tuesday, September 17, 2013

EUREKA SPRINGS -- The Village Writing School will welcome author Jan Morrill to teach an afternoon workshop on characterization on Sept. 21.

Morrill's debut novel, "The Red Kimono," published this year by the University of Arkansas Press, presents the character-driven narratives of three teenagers struggling to find their place in America during World War II.

In the workshop, she will demonstrate how to create multi-dimensional characters that come alive with personality, quirks, secrets, habits and senses, to keep the reader turning the page for more.

Don't miss this chance to learn from a master. The workshop is from 1-4 p.m. at the Garden Bistro on North Main in Eureka Springs. The cost is $25.
