BERRYVILLE -- Safer roads are coming to town.

The Berryville City Council approved a $495,840.50 bid for phase one of the College Avenue Improvement Project from Greer Excavating, Inc. -- a Green Forest company -- on Tuesday night.

The council also heard from Carroll-Boone Water District representatives on the need to run a parallel line from its treatment plant past Eureka Springs.

Carroll County ARES Emergency Coordinator Rudy Behrens also spoke to the council about the possibility of using an old communications building on Saunders Heights as a countywide emergency communication center.
