Friday, July 26, 2013

EUREKA SPRINGS -- In a gesture of thanks to the residents of Eureka Springs and the surrounding area for their "great support" of Opera in the Ozarks this summer, the Opera will hold a free concert on Tuesday, July 30 at The Auditorium.

The concert will feature the Altius String Quartet in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Opera's Piano and Voice Camps for outstanding junior and senior high music students.

Known for their passionate performances and unifed sound, the Altius String Quartet has become one of Dallas's premiere string quartets.

The group will be the String Quartet-in-Residence at Southern Methodist University Meadows School of the Arts in the fall of 2013, and they recently won the prestigious Plowman Chamber Music Competition.

The July 30 program will include all styles of music and many surprises and begins at 7 p.m. For more information, call Jim Swiggart, 479-253-8595.
