Tom L. Perkins
Tom L. Perkins, a resident of Mayflower, AR, formerly of Berryville, AR, was born Dec. 9, 1931 in Rice Lake, WI, a son of Jack Howard and Elva Frances (Hilborn) Perkins. He departed this life Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 in Conway, at the age of 81 years.
Tom was a member of the Ashley Masonic Lodge in Berryville. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and worked as a certified welder on off shore oil rigs for many years.
He is survived by three children: daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Allan Clary of Mayflower, AR, son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Ellen Perkins of Harrison, AR and daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Ken Hill of Nashville, TN; two sisters, Marion Deans and Emma Lou and husband John Spire all of Cushing, OK; one brother, John Perkins and wife Donna of Eureka Springs, AR; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and loved ones.
In 1955, Tom was united in marriage with Barbara Ann (Hunley) Perkins who preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his parents, Jack Howard and Elva Frances "Perky" Perkins and one son, Robert Lee Perkins.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013 at the Eureka Springs Cemetery. Interment will follow the service in the Eureka Springs Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
