Next step in grant writing to be taught at workshop

Tuesday, February 19, 2013

EUREKA SPRINGS -- Grant Writing: The Next Step will be offered at The Writers' Colony at Dairy Hollow on Tuesday, Feb. 26, from 1 to 4 p.m.

This Community Writing Program workshop is a follow-up to the Grant Writing Workshop offered in January and will focus on taking an idea for a program through designing the program and converting it to an actual project.

The workshop teacher is Mike McIntyre, who has worked as a consultant, VP of operations and director of a number of organizations in various parts of the world, including World Vision International, United Methodist Committee on Relief, and Save the Children.

Attendees will need to do a "homework" assignment before attending the workshop, which should take about an hour to complete. Attendees should also have an outline of an idea for a project they need funding for, including a list of essential ingredients, and have done some prospecting for funding sources.

The class is limited to 12 participants and the cost is $35. Pre-registration is required by calling The Writers' Colony at (479)253-7444 or emailing director@writerscolony.org. Once registration is completed, the homework assignment will be forwarded via email.

For more information, call Colony Director Linda Caldwell at 479-253-7444, or email director@writerscolony.org.
