Blue Eye plans chili cook-off this Saturday
A single building is all that remains of the Blue Eye Academy complex.
The century-old schoolhouse, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, needs a little TLC.
Fortunately, a dedicated group of townspeople is determined to not let this piece of history fade from memory.
The City of Blue Eye will host a chili cook-off from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Saturday at the academy, to raise funds for continued restoration of the building. After the entries are judged, the culinary creations will be available for purchase.
Six dollars covers chili, dessert, a drink, and the opportunity to take part in restoring a piece of local history.
