GREEN FOREST -- Green Forest opened the second half of the season and the 1-3A Conference slate with a 74-42 loss to West Fork Friday night at Fred Grim Gym.

The Tigers, 4-14 and 0-1 in 1-3A, trailed only 17-14 at the end of the first period and 40-28 at the half before West Fork took control in the second half.

"I felt we played as well as we have played all year in the first half," said first-year Green Forest coach Brandon Stone. "The boys executed our game plan very well. We just went cold in the second half."

The Tigers managed just six points in the third quarter and eight in the fourth as West Fork continued to expand its lead.

Michael Campbell led the Tigers with 13 points. Campbell matched a season high, scoring 13 in a 60-45 win over Eureka Springs on Nov. 28. He made a trio of 3-pointers and a pair of field goals.

He was followed by Clayton Watson with nine and Daulton Coffey with eight.

"We played very hard all game," Stone said. "I am very proud of their effort."

Green Forest continues conference action tonight at home against Elkins (0-1 in 1-3A).

"It should be a competitive game," Stone said.
