BERRYVILLE -- Britni Smith scored 13 points and Hannah Needham added 11 as Berryville improved to 12-4 overall and 2-2 in 1-4A Conference with a 59-37 win at Pea Ridge Friday night.

Needham was 3-of-3 from 3-point range and 1-of-1 from the field to complete a perfect shooting night.

"She played a really good game," Berryville coach Daniel Cornelison said of Needham. "She definitely needs props for her play. She played really nice defensively and shot the ball really well. I am very proud of her."

The Lady Cats led by 10 after the first period and were up by 14 at the half before maintaining a comfortable lead throughout the second half.

"We kept the game where we wanted it," Cornelison said. "That was a good win for us."

Cornelison said Needham's performance was crucial to the continued development of the program.

"She is a big key to our puzzle," he said. "When she plays well we are that much better."

He added that Needham is one of several players who have aided in Berryville's success.

"You never know who is going to step up and lead us," he said. "When they shut one person down someone else steps up. That's the beauty of this team. We continue to develop."

The Lady Cats entertain Lincoln tonight at Bobcat Arena. Berryville is tied for third in the conference with Lincoln and Ozark with Farmington and Prairie Grove atop the standings at 4-0. Gravette and Gentry are both 1-2 and knotted at the bottom of the league.
