Anna Vee Stephenson Avery

Anna Vee Stephenson Avery passed from this world to the next on Dec. 8, 2012 at the age of 83 years. She was born in Blue Eye, MO Jun. 13, 1929.

Anna retired from Lilly Tulip after 35 years of service. She loved her family. Her hobbies and interests over the years have included; camping, fishing, sewing, quilting, crafts, live music, square dancing, playing cards, and genealogy. Anna was also a founding committee member of the Blue Eye Annual Reunion beginning in 1980. She served as the Historian and assembled the Historical Collections book for roughly 28 years.

Anna is preceded in death by her husband, Dale Avery; parents, John Palmer and Gladys Stephenson; two daughters, Anita Avery Brake and Betty Avery Quincy Knight; and one sister, Norma Stephenson George.

She is survived by one daughter, Carol Avery Witt and husband Tom Witt; son-in-law, Jim Knight (widower of daughter, Betty), four grandchildren, Nelson Brake, Toni Quincy Vasso, Mike Vasso and Brandi Lynn Brake; three great-grandchildren, Jessica Raye Clevenger, Brandon Brake and Tanner Pettit; four brothers, J.D. Stephenson, Wendell Stephenson, Perry Stephenson and Joy Stephenson; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

We will find comfort in knowing that she will be joining family members and friends that have made their way to God's Kingdom ahead of her.

Visitation was from 1 until 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville. Funeral service followed the visitation at 2 p.m. with D.J. Schoolcraft officiating. Interment followed the service in the Blue Eye Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
