Floyd Johnson, a resident of Berryville, AR was born Apr. 14, 1923 in Carroll County, Polo Community, AR, a son of Columbus and Nora (Boren) Johnson. He departed this life Monday, Dec. 3, 2012 in Berryville, at the age of 89 years.

Floyd was a member of the High Church. He worked as a farmer and proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

Floyd is also survived by seven children, Donald Johnson and wife Ragene of Bentonville, AR, Myra Dean and husband Charles Hull of Saucier, MS, Ronald Johnson and wife Linda, Joyce and husband John Marsh, Johnny Johnson and wife Tonya, Lonnie Johnson and wife Janet and Tommy Johnson all of Berryville, AR; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and loved ones.

On Jan. 26, 1950, Floyd was united in marriage with Wanda (Stewart) Johnson who preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his parents, Columbus and Nora Johnson; three brothers, Elbert, Carl and Loyd Johnson; and one sister, Goldia Lovett.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel with Brother Wayne Writer and Maxine Smith officiating. Interment will follow the service in the High Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
