BERRYVILLE -- Teacher and longtime Berryville school librarian Debra Ann Warren has died suddenly at the age of 56.

Mrs. Warren died Sunday evening, Dec. 16 with her husband, Jimmy Dewayne Warren, by her side, the family said, and the doctors have since said she suffered from cardiac arrest, her husband said.

Mrs. Warren, an Oklahoma native, worked as a librarian at Berryville Middle School, and, before that, the Kingston School District, and she also had been a teacher. She was well-known throughout the community as an educator with more than 18 years' experience.

"She loved working with children and would help them with whatever they needed," said her husband.

She was part of a quilting club and loved her time there, as well as spending time with her friends and loved ones. She loved her nieces and nephews very much, her husband said.

The two of them shared many good times throughout their marriage and often spent time traveling and visiting cattle shows with their late daughter, Tearsa, he recalled. His fondest memory of his late wife is the day he asked her to marry him, he says.

Mrs. Warren was preceded in death by the couple's daughter, Tearsa Warren.

In addition to her husband, Jimmy Dewayne, whom she wed in 1989, Mrs. Warren is survived by her sister, Paula Hines of Sallisaw, Okla.; her father, Lloyd Sutterfield of Wagoner, Okla.; her mother, Loretta Rogers of Sallisaw, Okla.; father-in-law, James Warren of Berryville; two brothers-in-law, Steve Warren and Sam Warren of Berryville; three sisters-in-law, Cynthia Chappell of Berryville, Athena Treat of Huntsville and Theresa Warren of Goshen; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19 at Nelson's Funeral Home in Berryville. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20 at the funeral home with interment to follow at Farmer Cemetery in Berryville.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at
