On Saturday, Nov. 10, the Alpena Historical Society met for the second time in the recently restored Auman Building, now a courthouse. Participants met in the judge's room and discussed old and new business, which included working on a mission statement and possible school participation, potential meetings with owners of other historic buildings in Alpena and the legal status needed for application for grants. The group meets every third Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. in the Auman Building. The public is invited to come and listen and learn or participate in the open discussion after the agenda is dealt with, to share their ideas and knowledge. Here, participants discuss the options for becoming a non-profit organization. From left around the table are Merlin Leach, Jim Putman, Ruth Richardson, Tammy Raley, Bernal Green, Bonnie Morton, John Neal Cantwell, Shirley Wise and Chuck Smith.
