Carroll County News: High School Sports: Karate club belts out wins (10/26/12)

The Berryville Community Center Karate Club recently competed in Neosho, Mo. at a martial arts tournament held at Crowder College. The sponsor, Southwest Association of Tournaments, hosts the event comprised of martial artists from a four-state region.

Results of the competition were as follows:

* JoAnn Wurdermann, Adult Division, Forms 1st and Weapons 3rd

* Jamie Munday, Adult Division, Forms 1st, Weapons 2nd, Sparring 1st, and Grand Champion

* Daniel Morgan, Adult Division, Forms 1st, Weapons 4th

* Savannah Harrison, Junior Division, Forms 1st, Weapons 1st

* Newt Wiley, Children Division, Forms 3rd, Weapons 2nd, Sparring 1st

* Catlin Dickey, Children Division, Forms 1st, Weapons 4th

* Thomas Hayden, Children Division, Sparring 3rd
