Berryville falls in five sets to Gravette

BERRYVILLE -- The Berryville Lady Bobcats proved they belong in the same conversation as the conference elite Tuesday night, pushing Gravette to five sets before eventually falling 16-14 in the finale.

Berryville opened the match with a 25-19 win in the first game before dropping the second game 25-23. The Lady Cats pounded the Lady Lions in Game three, winning 25-16 but suffered the same fate in Game 4 to force the decisive fifth.

Hannah Noble led the inspired squad with 26 digs, 20 kills and eight aces, Aleksei Smith followed with 21 digs and 11 kills, Hannah Needham had 11 digs, five kills and two aces, Taylor LaCour added three aces, four kills and three blocks, Emily Trowbridge had eight digs, four kills and three aces, Kayleigh Johnson tallied 20 digs and five aces and Morgan Pondo chipped in four kills.

Gravette was led by Monica White with 17 kills and Tori Key with 13. White added five blocks.
