PEA RIDGE -- After opening the season with a 12-3 loss to Reeds Spring to open the season, Green Forest fared even worse in its second game of the year, suffering a 37-0 loss to Pea Ridge to drop to 0-2.

Pea Ridge returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and ran back an interception for a score on Green Forest's first offensive possession to put the Tigers in an early hole, one they would not recover from. Green Forest recovered a fumble deep in Pea Ridge territory on the ensuing drive but couldn't find the end zone, continuing the trend set last week when the Tigers failed to score in four trips inside the red zone.

"It's kind of the same thing as last year," Green Forest coach Jay Martin said. "We had a chance there and got down to the 1-yard line and couldn't punch it in. They pretty much controlled the game after that."

Cody Delozier had nine carries for 13 yards to pace the Green Forest ground game. Kevin Smith tallied 12 yards on two carries. Treyton Anderson completed 4 of 9 passes for 38 yards and an interception.

Eric Perez and Quinton Humbard led the defense with three solo stops each. Clayton Watson, Armondo Cenobio, Gustin Byers, Hector Lopez, Devin Johnson and Dalton Ewing added two apiece. Ewing also had a pair of assists.
