Photo contest will capture the best of the fair

Saturday, September 1, 2012

BERRYVILLE -- The Carroll County Fair wraps up this weekend, and now it's time to submit your favorite photos that captured all those fun memories.

If you snapped the perfect picture of your children on the rides, friends playing the games, or participants in the talent contests, you're invited to submit your photo in our first-ever Carroll County Fair Photo Contest.

Winning photos will win enlarged prints from Carroll County News, sponsor of the contest.

We've posted a link on our website and our Facebook page to get to the contest entry and voting page. You can find it at any of these three webpages:

* Www.carrollconews.com

* Www.facebook.com/carrollcountynews

* carrollconews.upickem .net/engine/Welcome.aspx?contestid=67943 (direct link to online contest)

This contest is another way Carroll County News covers happenings in the region, with fun, interactive online forums where readers share photos and stories.

New mobile apps and a 'Daily Deals' website will be introduced over the coming year to help our readers stay informed on the go.

The deadline and details of the Carroll County Fair photo contest is posted on the main contest page. Top three frequently asked questions are:

* How does it work?

You can submit your personal photo you've taken at the Carroll County Fair this year. View the entries and vote for your favorite. Submissions and voting is free and open to the public. All you need to do is click on the Registration Tab above, and then submit your favorite photo! Then, share with all your friends and family and send them the link through e-mail or social media so they can log on and vote for your photo.

* Can I still play if the contest has already started?

Yes. As long as it is still within the voting period.

* Are there prizes?

Yes. The top 3 winners will receive a large print of their photo, suitable for framing, as well as having their winning photo showcased in the Carroll County News the week following voting results.

If you have more questions about the contest, email Steve Johnson at Carroll County News at steven.dale.johnson@gmail.com, or call (870) 423-6636.
