Lexi Woods suffers from a rare neurological disorder.
BERRYVILLE -- A fundraiser for Alexia "Lexi" Brooke Woods will be held at the Chafin Fire Station in Berryville on Saturday, Sept.1 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Lexi has been battling a neurological disorder that causes severe pain on the left side of her body and severe stomach cramps. She is traveling with her parents to Minnesota on Sept. 17 for doctor's appointments at the Mayo Clinic where she will undergo extensive testing for two weeks, said Lexi's Aunt, Jennifer Yeager.

An abnormal MRI and EEG showed that Lexi has developed scarring on her brain tissue and nerve damage to her stomach arms and legs, Yeager added.

Lexi has not been diagnosed with a specific disease but her family hopes that after her testing at the Mayo Clinic she will receive a diagnosis and begin treatment.

A spaghetti dinner, and numerous raffles will raise money to help with the cost of treatment. Raffle items will include a Weatherby shotgun, Razorback Toms, Razorback apron, hand-made jewelry, a swedish massage, hand-made baby blanket, hair color, acrylic nails, BeautiControl gift basket, Thirty-One bag, Blessings Unlimited gift and many more.

An Arvest Cares Account has been set up and donations can be made directly or dropped off at United Medical, next to Berryville Ford.

For more information call 870-654-2197, 870-480-2357 or 870-350-0177.
