Bible Reading Marathon Committee needs help planning events

Monday, August 27, 2012

The Carroll County Bible Reading Marathon Committee will begin holding monthly meetings to plan events for the 2013 National Day of Prayer. Meetings will be at 7 pm on the first Thursday of each month at the Berryville Senior Center. The first meeting will be Sept. 6.

Meetings will begin with a devotion and prayer. Bible Reading Marathon consultant Bonnie Roediger will discuss the various ways volunteers can help plan the celebration.

The committee needs your vote to decide whether Green Forest or Eureka Springs will host the 2013 Day of Prayer event. Berryville has hosted the event for the past three years.

The 2013 events will begin on Apr. 26, with "Come N Go" prayer. A youth rally will be held Apr. 27. The Bible reading marathon will begin the next afternoon with an opening reception and will conclude on the first Thursday of May with a National Day of Prayer program.

Roediger said, "God is expanding His vision for me as He takes the torch to new communities. This includes encouraging new marathons to begin in other parts of the USA as well as the one here in Carroll County."

The seventh annual Your Life Matters Rally will be held Sept. 8 at Osage Baptist Church. Free BBQ, drawings for prizes, games for kids, and snacks are just part of the fun. There will also be an open car and bike show with free dash plaques for the first 75 entrants. For more information call 870-553-2434.
